Automotive Complex Abu Dahbi
Theme: Speed and Friction
Masterplan Automotive Complex. The Masterplan for the Automotive Complex covers a site of more then 6 km2 at the crossing between the Airport road and the Abu Dhabi - Dubai highway. The Automotive Complex is developed as a 2.5 km long Terminal with Satellites where all brands of cars may be represented. The major brands will have showrooms and garages for maintenance and services. Both used and new cars are displayed and dealt with. To attract as many people as possible to the Automotive Complex a series of other functions are added to the core programme of selling and repairing cars. Car parts shops and garages ranging from car tires to the complete tuning and customizing of cars add up to the general excitement of driving, watching, playing and living with cars. Car museum, styling centre, design academy and children car track augment the cultural aspect of the culture of cars. Hotel, conference centre and offices support the many events that can take place within the confines of the Automotive Complex. Outdoor test driving both for fast cars and SUV's are attractive features which will attract many extra visitors. In addition to all car related shops, showrooms and educational facilities, the Automotive Complex has ample shopping facilities for fashion, electronics, interior design, supplemented by several themed food courts. The core business of the Automotive Complex is to offer high level service to car customers, but at the same time it offers appealing attractions for families with children and offers must see shows and demos for people with specific interest in new technical developments and in the styling and design of cars.
Theme: Speed and Friction. The theme chosen for the development of the Automotive Complex is: Speed & Friction. People are driving cars, buying cars and living their life in and around cars. The culture of cars is also the culture of driving fast, the culture of Speed. And the culture of people with cars is also the culture of Friction: the friction of the tires on the asphalt, the friction of the cars in the traffic flow, the resistance of the wheels and springs while driving on the rocky riverbeds of the wadi's and the delicate grip of the flattened tires on the soft sand dunes while dune bashing. Everyone likes to go fast, but reality balances out the speed because of the friction. The theme of speed and friction can be expanded beyond the realm of cars into the realm of transportation at large. The friction of the air for the fast airplanes, the friction of the water to the speedboats.
