VR Space Theater Dubai
The golden egg. The X-Space virtual reality theatre is housed in a giant egg with a diameter of 70 meter held up high in the air by two strong arms. From the elbows up the arms jut into the air, connect to the egg at 150m + and come together in the skybar dome at 200+ sea level. The two arms rest on the ground level as to balance the golden X-space egg ["egg-space"]. The slightly raised conference center complex functions as the counterweight.
The triangular arms are held together by a hypar web of steel cables, transmitting the forces of the cantilevering X-space to the counterbalancing backside with the conference center. Standing underneath the x-space one will experience the awesome engineering achievement, the giant golden egg hangs right above your head, seemingly effortless floating like a balloon in the air.
In the interior a medium-speed linear transportation system similar to that of a skilift with cabins runs along the complete trajectory af the arms, going up to the X-space egg, further up to the skybars, down again to fetch people coming out of the Virtual reality theatre and all the way dowm to the ground level and exit. From there it continues to the conference center, and fnally loops again at the beginning and entrance to the transportation system. The cabin loops continuously at medium speed, the way up and down is designed as an experience rather then the fastest way to get up and down. From the cabins the public has spectacular views on Dubai[land].
